/Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Baidu.com, Inc., the largest Chinese
Internet search engine, today announced that Shawn Wang has
joined the Company as CFO. Early this January David Zhu was
promoted to COO. Baidu's executive team made its first public
appearance with a perfect combination of international as well
as local elites.
Prior to joining Baidu, Mr. Wang had worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers
(PwC) for 10 years, and became a Partner in PwC in July 2003.
He was responsible for managing PwC China's cross-border transactional,
accounting, and strategic advisory services to clients from
Asia Pacific countries with focus in the Greater China region.
He is an Expert Advisor for the China Ministry of Finance on
international accounting practices and accounting standards
setting initiatives in China. He was an advisor for China Securities
Regulatory Commission in 2003. Major clients he has served include
China Life, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., PetroChina Company
Ltd., China Eastern Airlines, and Netease, a Nasdaq-listed company.
Mr. Wang has been an active member of
many organizations, such as Sino- American Business Organization
and HK-American Business Organization. He has also given numerous
speeches, publications, and presentations on topics including
accounting and capital market development.
Mr. Wang holds a Master's degree in Accounting
from American University. He also holds a Master's degree
in Higher Education Administration from West Virginia University.
He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management
from Northwestern Polytechnical University in China.
Mr. David Zhu holds rich local management experience
and has strong experience in corporate strategy, business
solution selling and marketing. After graduating from Beijing
University of Aerospace and Aviation in 1992, Mr. Zhu worked
at Beijing Softtech Co., responsible for software marketing
and sales. His positions there included account manager and
subsidiary company manager. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Zhu joined
UFSoft Co. Ltd, the largest software company in China. He
held various positions there, including marketing manager
of commercial office software department, marketing manager
of MIS department, deputy general manager of management software
subsidiary company. In 2000, he was promoted to Vice President
responsible for national sales and marketing. In 2001, Mr.
Zhu founded Original Powet IT and served as CEO. In 2002 he
joined HAN Consulting (China) Ltd. as Vice President for business
development and sales.
In June 2002, Mr. Zhu joined Baidu as Senior
VP of Marketing and General Manager for enterprise software.
He was promoted to COO in January with responsibility for
the Company's overall operation.
