WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (Reuters) - China Netcom,
one of China's big four telecommunications operators, on Tuesday
estimated the price of its planned initial public offering
of 47.1 million American Depositary Shares at between $20.24
and $23.12 per ADS.
The Beijing-based company could raise as much
as $1.1 billion from the U.S. IPO based on the terms disclosed
in an amended offering document filed with the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission.
Each ADS represents 20 common shares, for a
total of 941.4 million common shares in the U.S. offering,
according to the IPO document. China Netcom said it plans
to sell an additional 104.6 million common shares in Hong
Kong, for a global offering of more than 1 billion common
shares.
