Tina Ju Ms. Ju is the Managing Partner of
Venture TDF China Fund, with 5 years of investment experiences
and 10 years in investment banking. She currently serves as
the Board of Director for 5 portfolio companies in VTDF China
Fund.
Ms. Ju joined Venture TDF in 1999
and brings with her extensive investment banking, corporate
finance, mergers and acquisitions and related management experiences.
Prior to assuming her current role, she was a director and
the Head of the Technology and Transport, Asia for Deutsche
Bank, responsible for capital raising activities, including
IPOs and private placements for Asian technology and transport
companies.
Ms. Ju also spent 7 years of her investment
banking career at Merrill Lynch New York and HK, was co-head
of Merrill Lynch HK corporate finance execution group, and
started its Asia technology I-banking efforts in 1997. She
successfully raised capital from private equity market for
numerous technology companies and related funds. During her
career at Merrill Lynch she has led over 15 transaction teams
which raised capital in excess US$3 billion. She has also
worked at Goldman Sachs (1987-90), and IBM as an industrial
engineer prior to receiving her MBA.
Ms. Ju received her MBA from Harvard
Business School and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Operations
Research from UC Berkeley.
David Su
Mr David Su is a Partner of Venture TDF China LLC, where he
joined in 2000. In addition to his management responsibility,
he has a specific responsibility for directing Venture TDF s
investment focus in software and services. Prior to joining
Venture TDF, David was with Lotus Development where he served
as the Managing Director of the company's Greater China operations.
At Lotus, he was responsible for managing the overall business
in Greater China, growing the solutions sales and Professional
Services business significantly, and firmly establishing Lotus'
leadership in Internet Groupware and Knowledge Management business
in this fast growing region. In his 6 years in Lotus, David
has held various senior management and technical positions in
the Asia Pacific region. Before Lotus, he has held IT project
management and operations roles with Port of Singapore Authority,
and Abacus Distribution Systems Asia Pacific. David graduated
with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Darren Ho
Mr Darren Ho is a Partner of Venture TDF China LLC. He joined
Venture TDF Singapore in 1998 prior to joining Venture TDF China
LLC in 2002. He brings to the team 6 years of expertise in private
equity investments. Darren has a particular focus in telecommunication
and semiconductor and is responsibility for Venture TDF s
investment in that area. Prior to joining Venture TDF, Darren
headed the ASIC group for Tritech Microelectronics Ltd where
he was responsible for product development. His ASIC group was
the major contributor to Tritech s revenue at its peak
which totalled in excess of $100 million. Darren holds a U.S.
patent and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics
from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his
MBA from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Chin Chao (not pictured above)
Mr. Chao is a Partner of Venture TDF China LLC. He joined Venture TDF in 1999
and has responsibility for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities and
for investment and divestment decisions. Mr. Chao was also the co-founder and a
key member of the management team of the TechFinancing Centre, a unit within
OCBC Bank Singapore (formerly Keppel TatLee Bank) dedicated to providing innovative
debt solutions to high-technology companies in Asia.
Prior to joining Venture TDF, from 1996 to 1999, Mr. Chao was a corporate and
licensing attorney at Fenwick and West LLP, a leading technology law firm in
Silicon Valley, where his practice focused on representing and counseling
high-growth technology companies and venture capital firms.
Mr. Chao received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Master of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He also has a
Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School and is the author of three
publications on technology and business law.
